2018 NSF COMPASS Science Communication Workshop. Estuary & Ocean Science Center, Tiburon, CA. 17-18 Oct.
“A professional development workshop focused on science communication and engagement skills with the COMPASS Science Communications team. Conducting cutting-edge research is necessary, but no longer sufficient, to solve the complex environmental issues confronting coastal zones and oceans. Scientists at all stages of their careers can benefit from professional development to stretch beyond traditional academic communication norms. In this workshop, COAST scientists will engage with journalists, policymakers, the public, colleagues and the COMPASS team to build and practice new science communication skills!”
WORKSHOP ORGANIZERS:
Ellen Hines, Associate Director, Estuary & Ocean Science Center.
Karina Nielsen, Director, Estuary & Ocean Science Center.
Aimee Good, Wetlands Science and Coastal Training Coordinator, Estuary & Ocean Science Center, and the National Estuarine Research Reserve.
