Morecambe Milieux, Aqueous Futures 6-8 Sep 2023

The three-day event: Morecambe Milieux, Aqueous Futures at the historic art-deco Midland Hotel will gather together a diversity of voices, practices and perspectives from arts, sciences, local governance and communities— from university and other knowledge settings — in the muddy, soaked, interstitial environment of Morecambe Bay itself. The event is presented by Future Places Centre Lancaster University to share stories from the Bay, and its upstream settings along-side other inter-tidal, wetland and coastal contexts from around the world. Conversations will critically engage with the relationship between place based environmental knowledge and action in the face of climate vulnerability while opening up a variety of ways for thinking about and experiencing wetlands and watery environments.
